2021 SHOE GIVEAWAY

The J.D. Thompson Alumni Association's Shoe Giveaway in September was a success, and another giveaway will take place Saturday, October 9th from 10am until 12pm, at the J.D. Thompson High School Alumni Building. Thank you to everyone who came out to get shoes and the various church volunteers who picked up shoes to help distribute in the community and nursing homes. JOIN US ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 14, 2021 AT 10:00 A.M.

We are excited to partner with Hwy 22 East Podcast to host a Kickball Tournament!

Come out to the former J. D. Thompson High School football field (1850 Coosa County Rd 30, Kellyton, AL 35089).

​

The field is located between New Home Baptist Church & Peace & Goodwill Baptist Church. We are not in the town of Kellyton. 

​

Registration starts at 9:00 a.m.

The tournament starts at 10:00 a.m.

$75 team entry

Co-ed teams are welcome. Ages 10 and up.

Bring your sun hat, shades, sports chairs or picnic blanket. Concessions will be sold. Social distancing is encouraged.

In recognition of Juneteenth a display will be available to view.

All proceeds from this event will support the Coosa County Training School /J.D.Thompson High School Alumni Association Renovation Project (white building).

CEMETERY CLEANUP

Our work has extended to not just the school or school buildings, we also honor the legacy of our founder by hosting community events. We hosted a cemetery clean up in March 2021 and the event was posted in the Coosa County News.
